Multicultural Day 2018

The annual Seddon CC Multicultural Day is this Friday 26 January (Australia Day).

Seddon CC Multicultural Day event is a celebration of the cultural diversity at our club, and within the local community in general, while also celebrating the invaluable contribution of club members of all nationalities and backgrounds. 

We have an action packed day planned including three teams (two sides from outside the club) competing in the T20 cricket competition for the Seddon CC Multicultural Day Cup, lamb & chicken gyros for lunch, 'Foods of the World' for dinner, official presentations and a band finishing off a big day at the club.

This year the T20 cricket competition will be very competitive, with a Sri Lankan side managed by Sammy Kandage (SK Lankans) and an Indian side managed by Raja Sandhu (Fateh CC) determined to take the Cup away from the Seddon side (Dockers Diversity) captained by Josh Beaumont. 

Schedule 
12pm: Fateh CC vs SK Lankans 
1pm: Lunch 
3.30pm: Dockers Diversity vs winner of Fateh CC/SK Lankans
7pm: Presentations
8pm: 'Foods of the World' dinner served
9pm: Band (Unchained Silence)

Cricket competition

• Five overs per end
• Four (4) maximum per bowler
• Batsman to retire at 50 (can come back in at the fall of the last man out)
• Free hit for no balls
• Leg side wides
• Shortened boundaries
• Whites and T20 tops for Dockers Diversity side
• $200 bar tab for winning team and prizes for player of match/final

Lunch
Once again we will be cooking a lamb (and chicken this year) gyros spit for lunch under the Bendigo Bank marquee on the oval. Lunch will be served around 12pm-1pm.

Dinner
As with every year we have held the Multicultural Day event at the clubrooms, the 'Foods of the World' dinner will be supplied by club members and will no doubt be a highlight of the days festivities. Dinner will be served after the offical presentations around 8pm and will include dishes from all parts of the world. 

If you would like to contribute a dinner dish, please advise Leigh Davies ASAP (as you can never have enough food!).

Band
Harley Grieves' band, Unchained Silence, will again shake the foundations with covers and original tunes after dinner. This is the second year that Unchained Silence have played at the clubrooms, so let's all get behind them and contribute to their performance any way you can.

Costs
$10 per player (T20 cricket competition)
$10 for lunch (per gyros)
$10 for dinner
