Seddon Cricket Club's 100th Year

Hi all,

This season marks 100 years as a cricket club, with the earliest report of a cricket match involving Seddon CC - originally known as Seddon Imperials - in the 1923/24 season in the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) competition. This is a significant milestone that the club intends to honour and celebrate for the remainder of the season.

Please mark the following 100th year key events in your diary:

Past Players Reunion

When: Saturday 17 February 2024 (2pm onwards)

Where: Seddon Clubrooms

Past players, supporters and members are invited to come along to a reunion as we watch the 1sts play against Airport West St. Christophers at Hanmer Reserve. 

We encourage you to bring along historical or memorabilia items to celebrate our history. This could include old club caps, polos, bats or team/individual photos, media articles, annual reports (pre 1937/38) or competition reports. If you or someone you know has these valuable items to loan to the club, it would be most appreciated to have these for our 100 year celebration in April.

The club will have FREE stubby holders for attendees to take home, as well as caps and polos for sale on the day. Later, the club will be holding its annual Reverse Raffle draw.


100th Gala Event

When: Saturday 6 April 2024 (6.30pm-11pm)
Where: Yarraville Club (Ballroom), 135 Stephen Street, Yarraville.
Cost per head: To be advised
Dress: Cocktail.

Seddon CC's 100 year gala is shaping up to be a wonderful night, to celebrate past and present players, supporters and the strong spirit of our multicultural, family club.

Cocktail dress will mark this important occasion. More information to be provided in the weeks to come.
