Junior Cricket​ at Seddon

The Seddon Cricket Club is a community minded and family orientated cricket club, based in Yarraville Gardens on Hyde Street, Footscray. Founded in 1924, we have a long and distinguished history in cricket and the community in Melbourne’s inner western suburbs.

​The Seddon Dockers Junior Cricket Club does not measure its success through wins and losses. Instead, we look to the number of players who choose to return each year to progress their interest in cricket, ideally following a path from our Blasters program right
through to senior level. We see match day success as a by-product of hard work, a commitment to personal development and enjoying what we do week in week out.

​Seddon Dockers is an all-inclusive club that recognises and embraces all abilities, cultures and beliefs. We pride ourselves in welcoming all aspiring young cricketers providing a positive environment to explore the game with a focus on building good hand eye
coordination, great teamwork and most of all, making sure kids have fun and develop a lifelong love of the game.

Cubs Cricket

Cubs Cricket gives kids their first taste competitive cricket before continuing onto Junior Comp. Cubs is suited for kids aged 7-9 years.

Training
Training for each grade takes place at Hanmer Reserve in Yarraville Gardens

General Information
​We encourage players to arrive a minimum of 15 minutes before game start time and if they are unable to attend or are running late, that they contact their team manager.

Cricket Equipment
The club has ample protective cricket gear, although most kids end up having their own gear at some stage. The kids will need to wear white pants, a white shirt and hat to play. Being a sun smart club, a cap is required to be worn. We have some clothing available including caps and shirts available depending on size and stock levels, but these should not be relied on.
Looking after our kids
Seddon Cricket Club have adopted Australia Cricket's policy for safeguarding children and young people. As part of the commitment the club has appointed a Child safety Officer, who is the first point of contact for reporting and issues that may arise.
